معرفی
Marie-Pierre Baduel is a Lecturer (PRAG) at the Center for Anglophone Studies (CAS), Toulouse III Paul Sabatier University, where she has been teaching since 2013. She specializes in LANSAD (Languages for Specific Purposes), particularly in medicine, paramedical, and pharmacy disciplines. Her academic work is deeply rooted in 19th-century American history and the study of slavery.
Her research centers on slave narratives, with a focus on racial representation, textual analysis, and the recovery of the enslaved voice, particularly in dictated narratives. She employs interdisciplinary methods including textometry and authorship attribution. Her doctoral thesis, defended in 2023, explored blood and skin color in antebellum slave narratives.
Her recent publications and conference presentations reveal a strong thematic consistency in analyzing resistance, identity, and racial discourse in African American autobiographical traditions. She is actively involved in academic dissemination through public talks, a podcast on The Underground Railroad, and a developing website on slave narratives.
