Marie Kerveillant

Marie Kerveillant is a Researcher at ESSEC Business School and leads the Human and Social Sciences Chair funded by CY Initiative and the Ile-de-France Region. Her work focuses on crisis management in healthcare systems, particularly the resilience of hospital structures during emergencies like the Covid-19 pandemic and terrorist attacks. She holds a PhD from ESSEC and CY Cergy Paris University, awarded the 2018 Prix de la thèse for her thesis on nuclear risk governance. Collaborating with institutions like Sorbonne University and the RAID (French Special Forces), her research examines crisis medical directors’ roles and tactical medicine practices in extreme situations.

Her methodology combines field observations, interviews with medical professionals, and quantitative surveys to analyze organizational responses to crises. Key projects include studying the Dynamo cell’s patient evacuation strategies during the pandemic and evaluating crisis medical director training programs. She aims to disseminate findings through workshops and policy recommendations to enhance healthcare resilience.
