Marie Dokovova

Marie Dokovova is a Lecturer in the Speech and Language Therapy team at the University of Strathclyde, Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences. She is an active researcher in clinical phonetics, with a focus on speech sound disorders, multilingualism, and the use of ultrasound tongue imaging for both research and therapeutic intervention.

Her research interests center on improving speech intelligibility, particularly in children with cleft palate, through innovative techniques such as ultrasound visual biofeedback. She employs methods from acoustic phonetics and speech perception to investigate articulatory variability and develop evidence-based interventions. Her work also extends to real-world communication challenges, such as telephone interactions for individuals with difficult-to-understand speech.
