معرفی
Marie Chabrol serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Geography at the University of Picardie Jules Verne (Amiens, France), where her work bridges urban geography, migration studies, and critical poverty research. Her institutional affiliation centers at the Citadel campus (10 rue des Français libres).
Her research program investigates urban inequality production through intersecting lenses of gentrification, migration, and precarity. Key contributions include documenting working-class/immigrant neighborhood resilience amid urban transformation and analyzing tensions between 'solidarity cities' and 'exclusive cities'—revealing how urban policies simultaneously produce inclusion and exclusion. Her methodological approach integrates social geography with critical urban studies to examine spatial manifestations of inequality in French and Belgian contexts.
She currently leads ANR-funded research through the THERMAPOLIS project (2021-2024), which examines urban reception-rejection dynamics. Her scholarly trajectory evolved from doctoral work on Parisian neighborhood gentrification to broader European metropolis transformations, consistently focusing on how marginalized communities navigate urban change.
