معرفی
Prof. Dr. Marianne Rots is a leading Dutch academic in molecular epigenetics at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Medical Sciences. As an Editor-in-Chief of Clinical Epigenetics, Founder of the International Society for Molecular to Clinical Epigenetics, and Chair of the Royal Society Natural Sciences, she bridges fundamental research with clinical translation.
Her research focuses on epigenetic mechanisms in metabolic disorders, neurodegenerative conditions, and mitochondrial DNA methylation. Recent work examines epigenetic editing applications for brain diseases and liver metabolism, with CRISPR/dCas9 tools targeting specific gene regulation patterns.
- 2025: Investigating epigenetic editing for brain disorders
- 2024: Studying histone acetylation in hibernation biology
- 2023: Exploring mitochondrial DNA methylation in metabolic stress
She has received 12 scientific prizes, including the Rosalind Franklin Fellowship and Chair positions in prestigious societies. Her 125+ publications demonstrate sustained impact across epigenetics, gene editing, and disease mechanisms.
