Marianne Lind is a Junior Research Fellow in Comparative Literature at the University of Tartu, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Institute of Cultural Research, a position she has held since September 2024. She is concurrently pursuing her PhD in contemporary literature, focusing on narratives of motherhood. Her academic journey includes prior research roles in educational technology at the University of Tartu and administrative work at the Under and Tuglas Literature Centre. She holds two Master's degrees: one in Animal Ecology and another in Literary Studies.
Her research interests are centered on comparative literature, literary theory, and contemporary Estonian literature, with thematic emphases on decadent aesthetics, motherhood, and identity. She has also contributed to interdisciplinary work in environmental education and science policy. Her educational background includes a BA in Theology from the University of Tartu (2009), an MSc in Animal Ecology (2011), and an MA in Estonian Literature (2018).
Marianne Lind's recent publications demonstrate a strong interdisciplinary presence, blending creative literary output with scholarly criticism. Her works explore topics ranging from urban decay in the works of Jaan Oks and Knut Hamsun to physiological stress responses in birds, reflecting her dual expertise. Her creative writing often employs metaphorical and psychological depth, focusing on identity, nature, and emotional states.
