Marianne Cornetti is an Artist Lecturer in Voice at Carnegie Mellon University's School of Music, specializing in mezzo-soprano roles. She is also an Artist in Residence at Duquesne University and serves as Artistic Director of the Pittsburgh Opera Festival. Her career spans prestigious engagements worldwide, including Teatro alla Scala, Metropolitan Opera, and La Scala.
Notable roles include Azucena in Verdi's Il Trovatore, Amneris in Aida, and Princess Eboli in Don Carlo. She has performed at venues such as the National Theatre of China, Vienna State Opera, and the Bregenz Festival. Her recordings include Cilea’s L’Arlesiana and Verdi’s Don Carlo (2017).
Cornetti’s performances have been praised for vocal mastery and emotional depth, with reviews highlighting her 'miracle of power and flexibility' (Seen and Heard International). She has also collaborated with institutions like the Seiji Ozawa Music Academy and the Carnegie Mellon Philharmonic.
