Mariana Godinho

Mariana Godinho is a Researcher at the Centre for Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry (CBQF) within the School of Biotechnology at Catholic University of Portugal. Her work focuses on agricultural and food biotechnology, particularly on developing bioinoculant formulations to enhance plant growth under environmental stress conditions such as drought, salinity, and heavy metal contamination.

Her educational background includes a Master's degree in Microbiology from the University of Aveiro (completed December 2018) and a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from the Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra (completed September 2015).

She has been actively involved in multiple research projects including GO-BIOCHORUME (monitoring plant growth parameters), PhySUDOE (processing metallophyte plants for phytoremediation), and Q-AD4PurePort (characterizing volatile profiles of grape spirits and Port wines). Her scientific contributions also extend to outreach activities, including developing educational content about microplastics for high school students through the BIOFASE program.
