Mariana Carreño King

Mariana Carreño King is an Assistant Professor of Playwriting at Purchase College within the School of Film and Media Studies. She specializes in playwriting, theatre translation, and Latinx performing arts. Her work bridges cultural narratives through dramatic literature and cross-border collaborations.

Research Interests: Exploring themes of identity, memory, and social dynamics in contemporary theatre. Her plays like The Red Gene and Patience, Fortitude and Other Antidepressants highlight marginalized voices. She also translates works such as Schnauzer Duck and Decomposition, emphasizing cross-cultural storytelling.
