Marian Preda

Professor Marian Preda is Rector of the University of Bucharest since 2019, with 29 years of academic experience. He previously served as Dean of the Faculty of Sociology and Social Work (2008-2015) and President of the Romanian Society of Sociologists. His research focuses on social exclusion, time capital theory, public health policy, and crisis management. He holds a Fulbright grant (2017) and advises multiple ministries and international bodies like the World Bank. Key roles include leading the CIVIS European University Alliance and chairing the Presidential Commission for Social and Demographic Risk Analysis (2009-2010).
