Maria Woloshynowych

Maria Woloshynowych is a Senior Lecturer and Chartered Psychologist at the University of Westminster, affiliated with the School of Social Sciences and the Department of Psychology. She also collaborates with the School of Life Sciences, particularly in nutrition-related research. Her work bridges clinical psychology, patient safety, and healthcare systems improvement.

Her research interests include:

• Health psychology and psychosocial aspects of medical procedures
• Patient safety and clinical risk management
• Stress and coping in healthcare professionals, especially surgeons and emergency staff
• Nutrition, mood, and genomic instability in vulnerable populations
• Non-technical skills and team communication in emergency and surgical settings

Her recent publications show a strong trend toward interdisciplinary research, combining psychology with public health, nutrition, and emergency medicine. Themes include vitamin D and pandemic outcomes, food-mood relationships, and systemic safety in healthcare. She has developed and validated assessment tools for stress and non-technical skills, contributing significantly to human factors in medicine.

Maria actively supervises undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students, with several theses completed or in progress.
