Maria Vinograd

Dr. Maria Vinograd serves as a Senior Teaching Fellow at Imperial College London's Centre for Environmental Policy within the Faculty of Natural Sciences. She co-convenes the Environmental Resource Management and Urban Sustainable Environments options for the M.Sc. Environmental Technology program, teaching and supervising student research at the South Kensington campus.

Education: She holds an M.Sc. in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London and a Ph.D. in Risk and Society from King's College London. Her doctoral research was part of a NERC funded project with the MetOffice, focusing on vulnerability to natural hazards and extreme weather events.

Research Interests: Her work centers on:

• Human-environment interactions and resource management systems
• Circular economy solutions for sustainable resource use
• Societal responses to extreme weather and environmental risks
• Energy system resilience and the World Energy Trilemma framework

Advising and Research: Dr. Vinograd has supervised numerous M.Sc. dissertations on climate resilience, energy infrastructure, and life cycle assessment. She contributed to the World Energy Council's Trilemma Index as lead author (2018-2019) and collaborated on NERC-funded risk analysis projects with the MetOffice.

Collaborations: She actively partners with institutions like the MetOffice and World Energy Council on projects examining weather-impact databases and energy system vulnerabilities.
