Maria Strum

Maria Strum is a Clinical Instructor in Speech and Hearing Sciences at the University of New Mexico. She earned her M.S. in Communication Disorders from San Francisco State University.

With clinical experience across multiple settings including outpatient, home health, inpatient rehabilitation, and acute care, Strum specializes in adult and geriatric speech pathology. Her clinical focus includes assessment and treatment of aphasia, cognitive deficits, dysarthria, apraxia, and dysphagia resulting from neurologic disorders.

Strum emphasizes evidence-based, patient-centered care approaches. She has worked extensively in acute care environments, bringing practical clinical expertise to her teaching and supervision responsibilities.
