Maria Sabater Arcís

Maria Sabater Arcís is a researcher at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC), leading the Biosensors for Bioengineering research group. Her work focuses on interdisciplinary bioengineering applications, including nanotechnology, biomaterials, and biomedical systems. She collaborates with industry and clinical partners to translate research into practical solutions for healthcare.

Research Interests: Her expertise spans biosensor development, nanobioengineering, molecular bionics, and regenerative therapies. Her group explores applications ranging from antimicrobial therapies to smart nano-bio-devices, emphasizing translational research with societal impact.

She contributes to collaborative projects through IBEC's Thematic Networks and leads innovation initiatives like the spin-off LUMIRIS, which recently won the Emprendedor Digital award in the Revelation category. Her team includes visiting researchers and active participation in institutional programs like the Open Innovation Lab.
