Maria Pia Donzello is a Full Professor at the Department of Chemistry, University of Rome 'La Sapienza', affiliated with the Faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences (SMFN). She holds a PhD in Materials Science from the same university and has been a permanent researcher since 2004. Her research focuses on the synthesis and characterization of porphyrazine macrocycles for biomedical applications, including photodynamic therapy and boron neutron capture therapy. She teaches 'General and Inorganic Chemistry with Lab' and 'Bioinorganic Chemistry'.

- Bachelor's in Chemistry, University of Rome 'La Sapienza' (110/110 cum laude, 1996)
- PhD in Materials Science, University of Rome 'La Sapienza' (2001)
Research: Specializes in tetrapyrrolic systems (porphyrins, phthalocyanines, porphyrazines) and their applications in anticancer therapies. Recent work explores bimodal PDT/BNCT treatments. Active in designing multimetallic complexes with enhanced biomedical efficacy.
