Dr. Maria Parkes is a Senior Strategic Teaching Fellow in the Department of Bioengineering at Imperial College London’s Faculty of Engineering and serves as program lead for the undergraduate MEng Biomedical Engineering degree. She holds an MEng in Mechanical Engineering and a PhD in Tribology from Imperial College, with postdoctoral research focusing on orthopaedic implant materials like hydrogels and ceramics. Her affiliations include Applied Mechanics, Biomechanics, Medical Engineering, and Space Lab.
