Maria Nunez Munoz

Dr. Maria Nunez Munoz is a Research Fellow at the Management School, University of Sheffield, affiliated with the Operations Management and Decision Sciences (OMDS) research group. She completed her PhD in 2023 and continued as a Postdoctoral Research Associate for the FEVER project, focusing on integrating renewable energy and battery storage systems into electric vehicle fleets in freight transport.

Research Interests: Maria’s work bridges logistics decarbonisation and renewable energy, emphasizing sustainable electrification of road freight. Her research explores decentralized smart grids for zero-emission EV charging hubs, balancing technical, operational, and commercial constraints.

Key Projects: She collaborates with industry to reduce energy costs and GHG emissions through BESS and solar integration. Her work includes optimizing microgrids for EV charging stations and analyzing solar irradiance data for energy system design.
