معرفی
Maria Nagy is an Associate Research Scientist in the Department of Genetics at Yale School of Medicine, Yale University. She holds a PhD from Kansas State University (2008). Her research focuses on neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), investigating molecular mechanisms of motor neuron degeneration, protein misfolding, and the role of molecular chaperones like Hsp110. She collaborates with prominent researchers such as Arthur Horwich and William Fenton, contributing to studies on ALS mouse models, spinal cord transcriptomics, and in vivo pathology mitigation. Her work spans techniques like laser capture microdissection and RNA-Seq profiling, advancing understanding of disease pathways and potential therapeutic targets.
Her research interests include neurodegeneration, motor neuron physiology, and molecular biology, with a focus on translating findings from preclinical models to human disease contexts. She is affiliated with the Horwich Lab, where she conducts interdisciplinary studies at the intersection of genetics and neuroscience.
