Maria Luisa BONSANGUE

Maria Luisa Bonsangue is an Associate Professor at the Université de Picardie Jules Verne, affiliated with the Faculty of History and Geography. She leads the Professional License 'Heritage, Tourism and Environment,' directs international mobility initiatives, and holds elected positions in the TrAme research unit (UR UPJV 4284) and faculty governance. Her doctoral thesis (2006) examined the economy and society of Roman Narbonne.

Her research explores:

• Economic systems and maritime trade in the Roman Mediterranean
• Social stratification in ancient Gaul through epigraphic evidence
• Urban development and port networks in Roman provincial capitals

Recent publications analyze port economies, elite societies, and epigraphic discoveries in Narbonne, with consistent focus on integrating archaeological findings with historical narratives. She received the 2000 Italian national prize in Classical Letters education.

She actively disseminates research through documentaries, museum collaborations, and international conferences, emphasizing Roman Mediterranean connectivity.
