Maria Lucia Fania is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of L'Aquila, affiliated with the DISIM (Department of Information Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics). She holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Notre Dame (1984) and has held academic positions since 1985, including a Visiting Assistant Professorship at Notre Dame (1988-1989). Her research focuses on Algebraic Geometry, particularly projective techniques, classification of varieties, linear systems, and Hilbert schemes.
