معرفی
Maria Louloudi is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Ioannina, where she has served since 1996, advancing to full Professor in 2012. She currently holds the position of Department President (2018-present) and leads the Biomimetic Catalysis & Hybrid Materials Laboratory. Her career progression includes Lecturer (1996-2001), Assistant Professor (2001-2004), Permanent Assistant Professor (2004-2007), Associate Professor (2007-2012), and Professor (2012-present).
- Degree in Chemistry, University of Ioannina (1986)
- Ph.D., Department of Chemistry, University of Ioannina (1992)
- Post-doctoral Research, University of Rene Descartes, CNRS (1993-1995, EU Human Capital and Mobility Fellowship)
- Postdoctoral Fellow, University of Ioannina (1996, EU Return Grant)
Her research specializes in bimimetic catalysis and hybrid organic-inorganic materials, with focus areas including hydrocarbon oxidation using metal complexes (Mn, Fe, Cu), CO2 reduction, H2 production from formic acid, catalytic degradation of pollutants, and surface modification of silica/carbon materials. She employs advanced techniques like EPR spectroscopy to study catalytic mechanisms and has pioneered the use of recycled carbon materials for environmental applications. Her work bridges fundamental inorganic chemistry with industrial/environmental technologies.
Analysis of her 15 most recent publications reveals a strong emphasis on hydrogen production catalysis (6 articles), hybrid material design (5 articles), and environmental remediation (4 articles). Key trends include the development of sustainable catalysts using waste-derived materials, mechanistic studies of spin-state changes in iron catalysts, and engineering of ternary photocatalytic systems for water splitting.
- EU Human Capital and Mobility Fellowship
- EU Return Grant
Professor Louloudi has supervised 29 postgraduate students (11 PhD, 18 Master's) and 2 postdoctoral researchers. Her research is funded by major grants including 7 L'OREAL Paris projects (2015-2021), SYNERGASIA (2012-2015), THALIS (2012-2015), and NATO collaborations. She serves as a reviewer for top journals including Journal of Materials Chemistry and ACS Catalysis, and evaluates proposals for Greek, Dutch, and Austrian funding agencies.
She founded and directs the Biomimetic Catalysis & Hybrid Materials Laboratory, which focuses on molecular catalyst design, surface modification of materials, and development of heterogeneous catalysts for industrial applications. Her team collaborates internationally with institutions in Russia, China, France, and the USA, and has organized major conferences including the 15th Panhellenic Symposium of Catalysis (2018).
