Maria Juul Hansen is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics within the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Copenhagen. Her research integrates structural microeconometrics and computational methods to analyze individual and household decision-making processes in urban environments.
Her primary research focuses on structural microeconometrics, urban economics, labor economics, and dynamic programming with specific applications in location choice, spatial economy, household negotiation, commuting patterns, and urbanization dynamics. Recent work examines residential and workplace location decisions through dynamic equilibrium modeling and analyzes urban development impacts on housing markets and welfare.
Dr. Hansen actively participates in international academic forums including the Urban Economics Association meetings, Regional Science Association International conferences, and specialized workshops on spatial econometrics and agent-based modeling.
