Maria Judit Homs Avila is an Associate Professor at the University of Girona (UdG), affiliated with the School of Medicine and the Department of Medical Sciences. She teaches Physiology I and II in the Physiotherapy Degree program at EUSES (Campus Salt) and is actively involved in biomedical research.
Education:
- Licenciada in Biochemistry and Biology
- PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB)
Her research focuses on behavioral and pathological effects of neurotoxic agents, physiopathology of central and peripheral nervous system injuries, and pharmacological modulation of neurological lesions. She collaborates with the Clinical Anatomy, Embryology and Neuroscience (NEOMA) research group within UdG's Department of Medical Sciences.
Publications in international journals such as Gene Therapy, Molecular Therapy: Methods & Clinical Development, and European Journal of Pain reflect her expertise in neurosciences. She also serves as a faculty member for the UdG Master's program in Molecular Biology and Biomedicine.
