Maria Isabel Romero Garcia

Maria Isabel Romero Garcia is a Titular Professor at the University of Girona (UdG), specializing in Inorganic Chemistry. She joined UdG in 1996 as a teaching assistant and progressed to Associate Professor in 2001. Her research focuses on Sustainable Redox Catalysis using coordination compounds and the heterogenization/reuse of catalytic systems. She has published 96 scientific articles (74 in Q1 journals) and holds 2 patents, with 1 pending (as of May 2023).

Her academic journey includes a PhD in Chemistry from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (1995), postdoctoral work in France, and leadership roles in international research projects.
