Maria Fosheim Lund is a Research Fellow in the Department of Media and Communication at the University of Oslo, specializing in feminist film history and transnational cinema. She focuses on the career of Norwegian film pioneer Aud Egede-Nissen, examining her work across German, Danish, and Norwegian industries (1913–1934). Affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities, Lund has contributed to projects like the Nordic Women in Film initiative and co-edited books such as Silent Ibsen (2022). Her research addresses early cinema, silent film historiography, and gendered labor in media.
Her academic work spans Journal of Scandinavian Cinema and collaborative edited volumes, emphasizing feminist methodologies and critical historiography. Awards include the Coalition of Women in German Zantop Travel Award (2025) and the Ryoichi Sasakawa Fellowship (2023). Lund has also engaged in curatorial work at institutions like MoMA and Kunstnernes Hus, alongside editorial roles in film journals.
