Maria Felisa Rodriguez Prado

Maria Felisa Rodriguez Prado is a Professor of Galician Philology at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), affiliated with the Faculty of Philology. She specializes in African literatures in Portuguese, focusing on Cape Verdean literature and Lusophone cultural studies. Her research explores postcolonial identities, literary history, and cultural exchanges between Galicia and Portuguese-speaking African nations.

She holds a PhD from USC (2012) on the literary history of Cape Verde, particularly the 1944 Certeza journal and writer Nuno de Miranda. Her work is part of the GALABRA research group, studying cultural systems in Galicia, Portugal, Brazil, and Portuguese-speaking African countries. She has conducted research stays at institutions in Cape Verde, Brazil, and Portugal.

Her publications address topics like Cape Verdean narrative traditions, intercultural dynamics, and the role of literature in shaping national identity. She collaborates with the African Studies Center (University of Porto) and the 'Estudios Portugueses y Brasileños' group at the University of Salamanca. Her research also examines cultural representations of Santiago de Compostela and the sociopolitical context of literary production during Spain's transition to democracy.
