Maria Eriksson serves as a Lecturer at the Department of Art and Craft Education at the University of Arts, Crafts and Design (Konstfack) in Stockholm, Sweden. Her primary role involves teacher education within art teacher training programs with specialized focus on art subject didactics.
Her research interests center on art and culture school pedagogy, children's and young people's visual cultures, materiality, and sustainability. As a teacher educator, she leads courses in Independent Work at Advanced Level, Spatial Design, and Material Culture, and also teaches in In-depth Imagery.
Eriksson is actively engaged in research examining how materiality and visual culture intersect with educational practices, particularly in children's leisure time contexts.
