Marguerite Regan is an Associate Professor of English and Director of Teaching and Learning at Newman University. She has taught courses in composition, British and World Literatures, literary criticism, gender studies, and contemplative autobiography since joining Newman in 2006. Prior to Newman, she served as an Assistant Professor at Southwestern College (2001–2006). Her pedagogical innovations include learning communities, service learning, and the 'Reacting to the Past' historical simulation method.

Her research explores the cultural poetics and politics of food in literature, focusing on dietary protest in eighteenth-century England, colonialism and vegetarianism in women's novels, and food/meat imagery in James Joyce’s Ulysses. She also investigates contemplative autobiography, spiritual memoir, and interdisciplinary topics like family systems theory, epigenetics, attachment theory, Irish history, emigration, and trauma studies. Recent publications highlight her expertise in Joyce studies, food politics, and pedagogical innovation.
Marguerite Regan’s scientific awards include the Teaching Excellence Award at Newman University (2009), the Fassnacht Outstanding Faculty Award at Southwestern College (2004), and two Gerber Institute Grants (2015 for U.S.-Mexican Border Immersion Training; 2011 for Nonviolent Communication Faculty Training). She mentors students in spiritual memoir writing and has led panels at international Joyce conferences.
