Margit Saltofte is an Associate Professor at Aalborg University, affiliated with the Department of Culture and Learning within The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. She is also part of the Centre for Education Policy Research (CfU). Her research focuses on creativity in educational contexts, including school environments, project-based learning (PBL), and the role of interstitial zones in fostering creativity. She has contributed to understanding how institutional structures and social interactions shape creative processes among students and educators.
Saltofte’s work integrates anthropological methods with educational research, examining topics such as choir identity formation, feedback mechanisms in PBL, and the socio-cultural dynamics of learning spaces. Notable projects include analyzing zones of in-between as creative spaces in schools and developing feedback frameworks to enhance student autonomy in project-based learning.
Her publications span journal articles, book chapters, and edited volumes, with a focus on qualitative methodologies. She has reviewed for journals like LOM (Læring og Medier) and contributed to pedagogical innovation through collaborative projects. Her research bridges theory and practice, emphasizing experiential learning and the intersection of culture, technology, and education.
Saltofte has served as an external examiner for PhD defenses and actively participates in academic activities, including editorial work and peer review. Her interdisciplinary approach addresses challenges in recognizing creativity within institutional settings and promotes innovative pedagogical strategies.
