Dr. Margherita Ferrari is Assistant Professor of Mathematics at the University of Manitoba, applying combinatorial methods to biological problems. Her work connects graph theory with DNA nanostructure design and analyzes word combinatorics in genetic recombination mechanisms.
Research investigates combinatorial constraints in nucleic acid self-assembly and develops discrete models for DNA:RNA interactions. Ferrari previously contributed to the NSF-Simons Center for Mathematics of Complex Biological Systems.
