Margaux Cochard is a Research Fellow at the Blood-Brain Barrier Laboratory (LBHE), where she contributes to the European IMatrix project targeting matrix metalloproteinases in post-stroke ischemia diagnostics and therapy. Her academic journey includes a PhD from Université du Littoral Côte d'Opale (2019–2023), focusing on atmospheric particles' effects on lung cell transitions. She holds a Master’s in Human Toxicology (2018–2019) and a Bachelor's in Biology/Chemistry from University of Paris-Saclay. Her research spans environmental pollutants, cellular responses, and translational biomedical applications.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s: Biology/Chemistry, University of Paris-Saclay (2014–2017)
- Master 1: Drug Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, Paris-Saclay (2017–2018)
- Master 2: Human Toxicology, Paris-Saclay (2018–2019)
- PhD: Environmental Chemistry & Living Organisms, Université du Littoral (2019–2023)
Research Focus: Margaux investigates how environmental contaminants (e.g., urban-industrial particles) impact cellular processes like epithelial-mesenchymal transition, with cross-disciplinary applications in neurology and toxicology. Her current work on blood-brain barrier dynamics bridges environmental health and clinical neurology.
Her postdoctoral research at LBHE addresses translational challenges in post-stroke therapies, leveraging advanced in vitro models and biomaterial studies.
