Margaret Ruth Gonglewski is an Associate Professor of German and International Affairs at The George Washington University (GWU), affiliated with the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in German Linguistics from Georgetown University (1996). As director of GWU's German language program, she teaches courses from introductory to advanced levels, including Business German.
Her research focuses on second language acquisition, foreign language pedagogy, and the integration of technology in language education. She developed Treffpunkt Deutsch (Prentice Hall), a widely used textbook series, and has published extensively on digital tools for language learning.
