Professor Margaret Malloch is a Professor in Sociology, Social Policy & Criminology at the University of Stirling. Her work focuses on challenging criminalisation, punitive responses to crime, and rethinking justice through transformative and abolitionist frameworks. She currently holds a Leverhulme Research Fellowship (2023-25) examining campaigns to memorialise Scotland’s accused witches, exploring links between historical and contemporary injustices. Her research interests include gender, punishment, community aid, and responses to human trafficking. She actively engages with activism through roles like Trustee of the 'Remembering the Accused Witches of Scotland' charity and co-convenor of the 'Coalition Against Punishment Scotland'.
