Margaret Domagalska is a Professor at the University of Lodz, Faculty of Philology, Department of 19th-Century Literature. She is a Doctor of Humanities specializing in literary studies with a focus on Polish-Jewish relations and anti-Semitism in 19th and 20th century literature and press.
Her research interests include:
- History and culture of Polish Jews
- Polish-Jewish relations in late 19th and first half of 20th centuries
- Manifestations of anti-Semitism and nationalism in press and literature
- Holocaust in historical research and its representation in literature
- Jewish fantasy in 19th and 20th century literature and culture
Dr. Domagalska has made significant contributions to the field through her scholarly works, particularly her two monographs examining anti-Semitic discourse in Polish literature and journalism from the late 19th to mid-20th century.
Her notable scientific awards include:
- Maria and Łukasz Hirszowicz Award (2016) from the Jewish Historical Institute
- Nomination for the Award of the First Rector of the University of Lodz, Professor Tadeusz Kotarbiński, for outstanding work in humanities
Dr. Domagalska teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Polish Philology, with specialized classes focusing on the Holocaust and Polish-Jewish relations in the 19th and 20th centuries. She maintains regular office hours on Wednesdays from 15:30 to 17:00.
