Margaret Cohen is the Andrew B. Hammond Professor of French Language, Literature, and Civilization at Stanford University, holding a primary appointment in the Department of English. She is also by courtesy a Professor of French and Italian and Comparative Literature, with a Ph.D. from Yale University (1988) and additional degrees from Yale (B.A., 1980) and New York University (M.A., 1982).
