Maren Lehmann is a Professor of Sociology at Zeppelin University. She serves as Subproject Manager for C08 "Precarious Popularity: Political Populism as Delegitimization of Administrative Procedures" (since 2025) and leads Working Group 1 "Theories of the Popular" and Working Group 6 "The University and the Popular".

Her academic journey began with studies in design, education, and social sciences, culminating in a doctorate and habilitation in sociology. Recent publications explore themes like fear communication in dense orders, civic rage, and the aging of functional differentiation. Her work often examines how popularity assertion and legitimacy interact with administrative systems.
