Marek Olejnik

Dr hab. Marek Olejnik is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Slavic Linguistics at the University of Maria Curie-Skłodowska's Faculty of Languages, Literatures and Cultures. With habilitation in linguistics (2019) and a PhD in humanities (2006), his career spans over two decades of research and academic contributions.

As a specialist in Slavic onomastics and anthroponymy, his research focuses on microtoponymy, urbanonymy, and cultural identity in Polish-Ukrainian-Belarusian borderlands. His work examines suffixal derivations, historical name patterns, and political influences on toponymic changes.

His 15 most recent publications (2007-2022) cover Slavic onomastics, microtoponymic analysis of border regions, anthroponymic patterns in historical districts, and political influences on urban naming. Collaborative projects include Polish-Ukrainian linguistic studies and Slavic dialectology research.

Scientific recognition includes:
