Prof. Marek Binder is a university professor at the Institute of Psychology, Jagiellonian University, co-founder of the Consciousness Laboratory (C-Lab). His work focuses on neural correlates of consciousness and temporal structure of conscious experience.
- Department of Psychophysiology
- Faculty of Philosophy, Jagiellonian University
Research Interests: Studying brain mechanisms underlying consciousness fluctuations during sleep, anesthesia, and severe brain damage. Key projects include:
- "Neurophysiological signatures of brain damage (NSOBI)"
- "Multimodal assessment of consciousness disorders" (NCN DOC-BOX)
- "Development of a multimodal toolbox" (HORIZON TMA MSCA Staff Exchanges)
Publication Trends: Recent work emphasizes EEG biomarkers, auditory steady-state responses, and gamma-band activity for diagnosing consciousness disorders, alongside philosophical inquiries into consciousness temporality.
Scientific Collaborations: Active in international networks including the Association for the Scientific Study of Consciousness and International Brain Injury Association.
