Research Interests: Dr. Järås specializes in targeting innate immune checkpoints in acute myeloid leukemia (AML). His work uses CRISPR screens to identify cell surface proteins that protect AML cells from immune attack and evaluates their therapeutic potential through in vivo models. Key areas include leukemia stem cell biology, immune evasion mechanisms, and development of antibody-based immunotherapies.
Publication Trends: Recent work explores metabolic vulnerabilities in AML, niche protection of leukemia stem cells, and complement receptor targeting. Earlier studies established the therapeutic value of IL1RAP antibodies, combining CRISPR technology with xenograft models.
Leadership & Collaboration: He supervises PhD students, co-organizes LUCC conferences, and chairs sessions at cancer research meetings. Collaborations span multiple institutions including the Swedish Research Council and international networks.
