Dr. Marcus Gilley serves as Assistant Professor of Music at Georgia Gwinnett College since 2009. Holding a Doctorate in Musical Arts from the University of Georgia, his research focuses on saxophone composition, cross-genre musical interactions, and Southern musical heritage.
Performance highlights include appearances at the Montreux Jazz Festival, Jazz a Viene in Beijing during Gov. Sonny Perdue's 2009 diplomatic trip, and New York's Rainbow Room at Rockefeller Center. His scholarly work includes a dissertation analyzing Third Stream compositions by David N. Baker.
