Dr. Marco Rinaldi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Transport & Planning at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), where he co-directs the Artificial Intelligence for Mobility Lab. He holds a Research Fellowship at the Amsterdam Metropolitan Solutions Institute (AMS), collaborating with the Amsterdam Municipality on practical implementations of transportation management. His primary research focuses on anticipatory transportation management across modes, emphasizing tools and techniques that account for user behavior within scalable frameworks. Rinaldi earned his PhD from KU Leuven, Belgium.
His research spans control theory, network science, algorithmics, and machine learning applied to transportation systems. Key areas include urban traffic management, dynamic traffic control, and network controllability.
