معرفی
Marco Nardone is a Professor in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at Bowling Green State University (BGSU), part of the College of Arts & Sciences. His research focuses on theoretical and computational modeling of photovoltaic materials and devices, particularly addressing charge transport, phase transitions, and reliability challenges in solar cells. He leads projects supported by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), Department of Energy (DOE), and private corporations.
Dr. Nardone holds a Ph.D. from the University of Toledo. His work integrates principles from electrodynamics, quantum mechanics, and solid-state physics to develop multi-scale simulation tools for sustainable energy technologies. Current research emphasizes CdTe, CdSeTe, and CIGS solar cells, aiming to improve efficiency and lifespan through defect engineering and interface optimization.
- Key Research Themes: Thin-film photovoltaics, charge transport mechanisms, device degradation analysis, computational modeling.
- Collaborations: NREL, DOE, and corporate partnerships.
- Tools: COMSOL Multiphysics®, Mathematica®, MATLAB®.
His recent studies investigate metastability in CdTe solar cells, alkali treatments for CIGS stability, and nano-scale imaging of material defects. His work bridges fundamental physics with applied engineering to advance renewable energy systems.
