Marco Messina

Marco Messina is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Delaware’s College of Arts & Sciences. His research focuses on creating functional macromolecular materials for biological system analysis, integrating synthetic chemistry, polymer chemistry, and chemical biology.

• Education: B.S. (Texas A&M University Corpus Christi, 2014), Ph.D. (UCLA, 2019), Postdoc (UC Berkeley, 2019–2023).

Research Interests include enhancing imaging sensitivity, expanding fluorophore multiplexing, and developing methods for complex polymer architectures. His work addresses critical challenges in health and materials science through interdisciplinary tools.
