Professor Marco Marengo is a faculty member at the University of Brighton, specializing in thermal management and fluid dynamics under microgravity conditions. His work addresses the challenges of heat control in space environments, crucial for advancing human space exploration. He delivered an inaugural lecture titled Thermal management in microgravity: Heat control in a floating world on 11 March 2015 at the Huxley Lecture Theatre. His research focuses on gravity-independent heat transfer mechanisms and innovative devices for efficient thermal management in microgravity, developed through experimental studies.
Key research interests include the physics of fluid behavior without gravity, sedimentation, buoyancy, and hydrostatic pressure dynamics. His interdisciplinary work bridges aerospace engineering, physics, and applied thermodynamics, aiming to create sustainable thermal solutions for space habitats and missions.
