Marco MARSILI

Marco MARSILI is a researcher at the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage, Ca' Foscari University of Venice. His work focuses on international relations, security and defence, with emphasis on international law, human rights, terrorism and counter-terrorism, hybrid warfare, and dual-use technologies. He leads the Lawful Emerging and Disruptive Technologies and Warfare (LEDI) project funded by Italy's Ministry of Research under the MSCA Seal of Excellence 2022. As a member of the Research Institute for International Studies, he contributes to interdisciplinary research initiatives.

• Education: PhD in History, Security Studies, and Defence (ISCTE-University Institute of Lisbon); European PhD in progress in Political Science and International Relations (Catholic University of Portugal).

Dr. Marsili's research intersects with NATO, European Defence Agency, and Horizon Europe programs. He chairs NATO's DIANA volunteer expert group and the International Society of Military Sciences' Working Group 1 on War Studies.

• Scientific Awards: Seal of Excellence (2021), Charles V European Award (2020).

He serves on the editorial boards of Media i Społeczeństwo, International Journal of Robotics and Automation Technology, and The Rest: Journal of Politics and Development. As Academic Coordinator for Erasmus+ ICM Extra-Europe, he facilitates staff mobility between Ca' Foscari and institutions in Cape Verde and Turkey.
