Marco Jacquemet is a Full-Time Professor in the Department of Communication at the University of San Francisco. He teaches courses in communication and culture, intercultural communication, geographies of communication, and justice and social change.
- PhD in Cultural/Linguistic Anthropology from UC Berkeley
- MA in Linguistics/Semiotics from EHESS, Paris
- BA in Communication Studies from the University of Bologna
His scholarship examines communicative transformations driven by migrant and media flows in the Mediterranean. Key research areas include language-power dynamics, media populism, and digital communication ethics. His 2013 book project Transidioma: Language and Power in the 21st Century investigates transidiomatic practices in globalized contexts.

Marco is actively engaged with Italian media activist networks, analyzing intersections of media and power structures. His work combines ethnographic methods with critical discourse analysis to explore institutional communication breakdowns and digital culture.
