Marco Giorgetta

Marco Giorgetta is a Researcher and Group Leader at the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology in Hamburg, Germany. He leads the Wave Driven Circulations group within the Climate Physics department. His work focuses on understanding atmospheric dynamics, particularly the Quasi-Biennial Oscillation (QBO), wave-mean flow interactions, and global climate modeling. He has been a core contributor to the development of the ICON atmospheric model and has coordinated major projects like QUBICC and COMBINE.
