Marco Fabbri is an Associate Professor at the University of Bologna's Department of Psychology 'Renzo Canestrari', effective October 2024. Previously, he held a permanent researcher position (2012–2014) and served as Associate Professor (2014–2024) at the University of Campania Luigi Vanvitelli. His research focuses on chronopsychology, sleep-cognition relationships, time perception, and mindfulness, with an emphasis on circadian rhythms' role in psychological well-being.
Education: He earned a degree in General and Experimental Psychology (2003) and a PhD in General and Clinical Psychology (2008), both from the University of Bologna. He is registered with the Emilia-Romagna Order of Psychologists since 2006.
Research Interests: Chronopsychology, sleep's impact on cognitive functions, time perception, and gut microbiome interactions with health conditions. He has led national and international projects, including a 2018 research grant at the University of Potsdam.
Labs and Collaborations: Participated in Chronolab and Sleep and Dream Psychophysiology Laboratory (Bologna), and international labs like Barcelona's UBNEURO and Newcastle's Centre for Behaviour and Evolution. Member of organizations such as the Italian Sleep Medicine Association (AIMS) and International Time Perspectives Network (ITPN).
Teaching: Currently teaches courses in Applied Cognitive Psychology, Childhood Education, and Psychological Sciences at the University of Bologna. Previously coordinated the bachelor’s program in Psychological Sciences and Techniques at the University of Campania.
Editorial Roles: Guest editor for Timing & Time Perception and International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, and Review Editor for Addictive Behaviors and Frontiers in Psychology.
