Dr. Marcin Kotlarz serves as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Philosophy within the Collegium of Socio-Economics at SGH Warsaw School of Economics, where he holds a research and teaching position.
He earned his PhD in Economics in 2011 from SGH Warsaw School of Economics with a dissertation titled "Rent-Seeking in the Public Sector," supervised by Dr. Sławomir Sztaba. Prior to his doctoral studies, he graduated from the University of Gdańsk with a degree in Economics from the Faculty of Economics.
Dr. Kotlarz's research explores the intricate relationship between legal frameworks and economic systems, particularly in financial markets. His scholarly work examines organizational structures of market entities, public sector operations, and development economics with emphasis on how formal and informal market institutions emerge and function. His interdisciplinary approach bridges economic analysis with philosophical perspectives on market behavior and institutional design.
His work demonstrates particular interest in how institutional arrangements shape economic outcomes and how legal structures influence market dynamics, especially in contexts where institutional frameworks are evolving or underdeveloped.
