Marcin Łukaszewski

Professor Marcin Łukaszewski serves at the Faculty of Composition and Theory of Music at Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, Poland. He holds the academic title of Professor with a habilitation degree (Dr. Hab.).

His teaching focuses on music theory, composition, and Polish musical heritage. Professor Łukaszewski has been consistently involved in teaching core subjects including Music Theory (Teoria muzyki), History of Music Theory (Historia teorii muzyki), and specialized courses on Polish Music of the 20th and 21st Centuries (Muzyka polska XX i XXI wieku).

His research interests center around Polish musical traditions, compositional techniques, and music theory education. Professor Łukaszewski has taught courses spanning historical periods of Polish music from pre-19th century through contemporary works, with particular emphasis on 20th and 21st century Polish composers.

He actively supervises master's thesis work as evidenced by his regular coordination of Master's Thesis Seminars (Seminarium pracy magisterskiej) and Diploma Thesis Seminars (Seminarium pracy dyplomowej) across multiple academic years from 2015 through the upcoming 2025 academic year.

Professor Łukaszewski teaches both practical piano instruction (Fortepian) and sight-reading skills (Czytanie partytur), demonstrating his dual expertise in performance practice and theoretical understanding of music.
